Legal troubles and T.O. drama lead today's headlines
It's a busy Thursday in the sporting world... it's just too bad very few of the headlines have to do with actual sporting events. Legal troubles, T.O. drama and sad endings are the highlights, er, lowlights of the list.

King protests Khan's stoppage win over Barrera
If I wasn't such a fan of the "sweet science," I might have thought
this headline was lifted from the pages of a history textbook. The
"King" in question is Don, who is pissed that his fighter Barrera
(Marco, that is) lost a boxing match to a man named Amir Khan.

Tejada gets probation for misleading CongressOh Miguel, first you mislead everyone regarding your age (he
is 34, right?), then you pull a Palmeiro and fib to Congress about using PEDs. Luckily his slap-on-the-wrist-sentence consists of only 100 hours of community service and a $5,000 fine.

Owens plans to skip Bills' voluntary workoutsDidn't we already know that T.O. wasn't going to the workouts? I guess now he's made it official. Does everybody keep forgetting that voluntary workout are, in fact, voluntary? I wonder how many other NFL'ers are playing hookie that we're not hearing about. The T.O. media train rolls on.

Goodell: Remorse a factor in Vick reinstatementLooks like Mike Vick is going in front of a judge... again. This time though, its NFL Commish Roger Goodell. Is there anyone out there who really thinks Vick isn't remorseful, or at least going to act like he is? The guy went from super star to prison yard in a hot minute and the Commish is thinking that might not have learned his lesson?

Officer delayed NFL player as his relative diedSad story here; Texans RB Ryan Moats was stuck in a hospital parking lot, getting a lecture from a local po, as his mother-in-law died inside. Makes you wonder how often this sort of thing happens and goes unreported when the victim is an average joe.
