The city of Denver smells like urine.

After Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen sent long-time head coach Mike Shanahan on an extended vacation, Josh McDaniels was hired by the organization to resurrect the team from evident mediocrity.

Since his hiring in mid-January, the Mile High city has lost the scent of its fresh, thin air. Instead, traces of a musty odor can be detected throughout the capital. Late night sightings of McDaniels have been reported, as he strategically wanders from tree to tree, marking his newfound territory like a dog in fire hydrant heaven.

Dove Valley, home of Denver Broncos headquarters, is home to media speculation and constant quote-badgering from the new-look team, coaching staff, and executives. One might assume that players would be willing to comment on the situation and show support for both sides in the matter; lest we forget that McDaniels is cut from the same rug as long-time mentor and New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick.

This can mean one thing, and one thing only. Not a word is coming from Dove Valley.

McDaniels has brought the "Patriot Media Way" to Denver, where lips are sealed tighter than a snare drum. FM Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan, in Denver, has reportedly made several attempts to speak with McDaniels about the current situation with no response. However, McDaniels has made certain players available to speak to the media after the first few days of off-season workouts. On Tuesday, second-year wide receiver Eddie Royal commented, as did former New England Patriot, Jabar Gaffney.

Accordingly, as Jay Cutler and McDaniels continue this childish episode in one of the more controversial off-seasons the Broncos have had in recent memory; we as fans, and the media, can expect to hear very little from the team.

Although, stellar quotes about "taking it one day at a time", and "controlling what I can control", along with "giving 110 percent" are a dime a dozen for the orange and blue.

Until the day that Cutler shows himself at workouts, McDaniels makes a definitive statement on the direction of the quarterback position, or Cutler is traded; the silence in Denver will continue to be deafening.
