We should have seen this coming, right?  The AP is reporting that Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner, was fined $25,000 Sunday for negative comments he made regarding the officiating (or apparent lack of it) in a game between the Mavs and the Denver Nuggets.

But this wasn't in a post game interview in print or television, Cuban posted his grievances on Twitter.  You've read previous posts on our site about other professional athletes and their twittering habits and our wish list of those in the sports world we'd like to read.  But the writing was on the wall, or blog, for this one.  Outside of that other vocal owner in Dallas, leave it to Cuban to take the latest "it" medium and turn into another way to get fined.

I hope NBA catches the Twitter-fever and starts dolling out fines, suspensions and other NBA dealings through the social network.

"We're moving the Sonics to Oklahoma. Don't tell Seattle."

"For ratings sake, we really hope LA and Boston meet in the finals again."

"Take that Cuban. 25 big ones. How do you like us now?"
