Naming baseball's best hitter provides endless debate
During this off-season, I've read articles saying that there are two players that are the "best hitters in baseball." However, my issue is, there can only be one "best hitter" in the game. But who is it? Albert Pujols or Manny Ramirez? Someone else? Let's investigate.
Albert Pujols is the most consistent player in all of baseball, period. This is not for debate. However, he is also
the most underappreciated player in the MLB as well. ESPN.com's Jonah Keri wrote an article that states these exact facts.I could bore you with all the other things that Keri says about Pujols but to make it easy, Pujols should have been the MVP last season and he wasn't even considered.
With that said, ESPN The Magazine's Jeff Bradley says that
he would take 9 Manny's on his baseball team. Bradley goes onto say that although Manny on field might always have a smile on his face and be joking around, his work ethic before game time is more intense than anyone in the MLB. He only swings at the pitches he knows he can hit until he has two strikes on him.
Both players have unbelievable numbers, both players don't get enough credit for being as talented as they are.
So who is the best? As an all around hitter, who would you rather have on your team? Baseball writers obviously can't decide... Can you?
