Women's athletics still competitive, watchable

In my search for opening day I stumbled on something, that at first I would ignore, but soon demand more. By mistake I landed on the NCAA Women's Final Four game featuring #3 Louisville and #1 Oklahoma. I joined in as Louisville was on a 7-0 run, resulting in their first lead of the second half.

As the game went back and forth it was easy to see that this was not only competitive but highly-emotional basketball. It was what all sports should be. It even came down to a final second shot as Louisville won the game 60-59....

New NFL rules hit 'below the belt'
NFL issues new safety regulation, "The Brady Rule"

NFL owners passed four new safety regulations today at its annual meeting reports ESPN's John Clayton. Forearm blows, crack backs and "wedge" style onside kicks will now be illegal.

But those are put in the shadow to what has already been dubbed "The Brady Rule."...

But most of these guys are memorable sports stars who are forgettable as commentators. But nevertheless, CBS and other stations will continue to cycle through talent, which means one day we'll explain to our children that the former-athletes they're watching now were great during our time....
